Coolum Beach woman, 23, killed in high-impact Bli Bli crash

UPDATE 12PM: 

RESIDENTS have recalled their power going out and seeing emergency services at work late last night after a 23-year-old woman was killed in a single vehicle crash on Bli Bli Rd.

One resident who lives about 500m from the scene of the crash said he lost power at about 10pm.

Unsure what had caused it he said he checked his fuse box before heading out to the street, where he saw orange flashing lights and emergency service vehicles at work.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 10.08pm last night and were on-scene by 10.20pm.

Tragically the 23-year-old Coolum Beach woman who was the driver of the silver sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, after her car collided with a power pole, after leaving the eastbound lane and crossing the shoulder of the road.

The impact left the vehicle wrapped around the power pole, after impact on the passenger side.

A Police Media spokeswoman said it didn't appear conditions had played a factor but the Forensic Crash Unit was carrying out a full investigation of the crash to determine the cause.

A WOMAN has died in a crash at Bli Bli overnight.

Police report a 23-year-old Coolum Beach woman was killed when the sedan she was driving collided with a power pole on Bli Bli road at around 10.05pm.

Emergency services attended the crash but the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
